Adler Network Account

You are provided with an Adler network username/password that is used to log into various systems like:

  • Any on-campus workstation
  • Email / Office 365
  • Adler Connect portal
  • Self Service
  • WebAdvisor
  • LMS (Learning Management System)
  • OneDrive for Business
  • Skype for Business
  • Ultipro (benefis/compensation management, time management, performance management)

Your assigned username is generally set as FirstinitLastname – i.e, jdoe.

Some systems require login using email format, i.e., [email protected]

You can change your password at any time using the Adler Password Management Tool.

First and foremost: Enroll in the Adler Password Management Tool (also available from the Adler Connect Quick Links menu).

This tool allows you to self-service password reset / unlock your locked account (due to excessive invalid login attempts) both on and off-campus – even from your mobile device.

  • Your password must be a minimum password length of 8 characters and include at least one upper/lowercase letter, number, or symbol
  • Your password will need to be changed every 90 days
  • Do not share your login information with anybody except Adler Technology staff – they may need your credentials to resolve issues by logging in as you
  • When you change your password, remember to update any mobile devices that are logging into your Adler email account (smartphone, tablet, etc.)

Accessing Adler Online Systems

  • Adler Connect Portal
    • This is the one link you need to remember – you can get at all systems through the Adler Connect portal!
  • Quick Links menu – Access all technology applications
  • Events, announcements, notifications
  • Support resources (Technology, Online Education, HR, Library, Registrar, Financial Aid)
  • WebAdvisor (budget management, online grade entry, course evaluations, etc.)
  • Faculty/staff directory for Chicago/Vancouver campuses
  • Self-Service (Student Planner system allowing faculty to review student progress)
  • LMS (Learning Management System)
  • Office 365 web interface: (Email, Calendar, People, download MS Office to your personal system, OneDrive)
    • Tip: Configure your Adler email account on your mobile device for easy access
  • System check tool – test your personal computer compatibility with Adler systems
  • Software store (discounted software for Adler employees)
  • Adler University store
  • Colleague – Adler student information systems (SIS)
  • Ultipro benefits/compensation/time and attendance/performance management

NOTE: While not yet fully supported, the Adler Connect Portal is accessible from mobile platforms. Some functionality may be unavailable depending your specific platform

Adler Email

You are assigned an Adler email address formatted as: [email protected]. Your email can be accessed using Outlook on your Adler-provided computer, through a browser at login.microsoftonline.com, or on your mobile devices. All Adler electronic communications occurs through your Adler email account.

Be Vigilant: Our technology intercepts thousands of spam/malware messages daily. Some spam, however, may occasionally reach your mailbox. Please use care – email phishing scams are common and attempt to coax you for personal information, your username/password, or to click “official” email links. The Adler Helpdesk will never solicit your password by email. Should you receive an email that is suspicious, please delete it. If in doubt, please contact the Adler Technology Helpdesk. Phone System

Chicago main phone number: 312-662-4000    |    Vancouver main phone number: 236-521-2500

Core faculty/staff are assigned a direct-dial phone number that rings through to your office phone. You can share that number with internal/external constituents as needed. On campus, you can be reached by dialing the last four digits of your phone number. The Adler Connect portal provides a directory listing Chicago/Vancouver/Online faculty/staff phone numbers. You can access voicemail, set your voicemail password and voicemail greeting on or off campus. Refer to the Adler Connect Portal for information on these procedures. Note that your voicemail messages will automatically forward to your Adler email as an audio attachment. Deleting the email message does not delete the voicemail in your phone – but – old phone voicemail will be automatically deleted if you exceed your mailbox usage allowance.


  • To dial an outside line, please dial 8 + 1 + Area + Phone number
  • You can direct-dial any Chicago/Vancouver extension from either campus – just dial the extension number
  • Classroom phones cannot call external phone numbers

Adler-Provisioned Computer

Core faculty and staff are assigned an Adler laptop by default to provide you with an on/off campus computer. A desktop computer in lieu of a laptop is available on request. Adler currently deploys Windows-based systems with many capabilities, including:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Multimedia-ready
  • Video/audio player
  • Internet access using Internet Explorer, Firefox (preferred), or Chrome browsers
  • Specialty applications (SPSS, Atlas.ti) are available on request
  • PDF printer (print any document to a PDF format file)

Please contact the Helpdesk should you need any peripherals, including:

  • Keyboard/mouse
  • Additional monitor
  • Webcam
  • Laptop bag
  • Monitor stand
  • Headset

Important: Please save all your work on the applicable network share drive or on OneDrive – we do not back up local computer hard drives! Classroom computers are regularly erased/reloaded to optimize performance.

You can use your personal Windows/Mac computer on or off-campus to access limited resources such as the wireless network, Internet, OneDrive, Skype for Business, etc. Use the systemcheck tool on Adler Connect Quick Links or systemcheck.adler.edu to validate system compatibility with our systems. Web-based systems such as Adler Connect, WebAdvisor, LMS, Ultipro, etc., are accessible from your personal computer on or off campus.

Note to Adjuncts: You can log into any on-campus computer and access applications, printing, Internet, email, etc.
