Adler University is changing the Learning Management System we use from HotChalk Ember to Instructure Canvas (“the new LMS”). The change will become effective for the Academic Year 2017-18.  Ember (https://adler.hotchalkember.com) will continue to be used as our LMS for the remainder of the Summer 2017 terms.  Starting with the Fall 2017 terms, we will use the new LMS, https://adler.instructure.com.

These two systems are nearly identical in terms of look and feel, course setup, and user interactions.  In fact, we are gaining features including a mobile app and the ability to comment on student papers within the system.

How do I get support for the new LMS?

The LMS Support Center is a resource designed to provide assistance if you are experiencing any issues with the LMS.  In the support center, you can search for frequently asked questions and for information on how to troubleshoot issues such as posting an assignment, updating notification preferences, or checking grades.  If you are unable to find a solution in the knowledge base, you can submit a help ticket, start a live chat, or call our support team.

To access the LMS Support Center select Help in the lower left corner of the LMS or visit https://resources.adler.edu.
